Peter Batchelder
January 27th, 2007
Peter Batchelder’s paintings are often based on the simple things of New England that evoke the memories of summers on the Vineyard, walks through grown-over pastures along stonewalls and the classic architecture of barns and old homes. Born in Beverly, on Boston’s North Shore, he has lived on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and in New Hampshire, Vermont and western Massachusetts. In his paintings he uses light and shadow coupled with color to connect the subject with the viewer.
