Vineyard Haven and West Chop Lighthouse

VINEYARD HAVEN
When ships were powered by wind and canvas, Vineyard Haven was one of New England’s busiest ports because of its strategic location on the sailing routes. Most of the coast wise shipping traveled through Vineyard Sound – 13,814 vessels were counted in 1845.
A beautiful Harbor, excellent shops and fine restaurants are only a few attractions so special to visitors and residents alike.

Uta Kloss was born into a family that was very artistic.  Throughout her life, she has developed her appreciation of art and honed her expertise in photography and custom framing. In 1969, she relocated to the U.S. and lived in various states before settling down on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.  Uta decided to devote her time to her love of art and buy Island Art Gallery/Kennedy Studios in 2002.  She oversees all aspects and operations of the fine art gallery, which represents local artist and photographers.  Her work entails attending to customers, selling artwork, providing custom framing services, and updating the gallerie’s website.  She attributes her success to her dilligence and ability to listen to her customers.
